WellCommit offers customizable stress management packages based on your individual goals and needs.  Each package is a minimum of four weeks and can focus on any or all of the following services:  Acupressure, Yoga, and Ear Acupuncture

See below to learn more about each of these offerings.

Acupressue

Acupressure

We feel pain and tension when our energy is blocked in our bodies.  This blocked energy can show up as being stuck in the same behavior patterns, holding tension in your muscles, or feeling overwhelmed with stress.  Acupressure is just like acupuncture in that it moves stagnant energy through the body, except that it does not use needles.

Acupressure is a form of localized massage that utilizes points along the meridians (AKA energy channels) to remove energetic blockages.  We experience less physical and emotional tension when our meridian channels are cleansed of stagnation.  Acupressure teaches us to pay attention to how our thoughts and emotions impact our physical tension.

An acupressure session begins with a conversation about where you feel pain and tension in your body.  We'll also discuss your medical history and any life events or transitions you are currently experiencing.  I'll use the information you provide to create a customized acupressure sequence to help you alleviate tension.

Yoga

Yoga

There's a reason why yoga has been practiced for over 5,000 years - it works!  The ultimate goal of yoga is to bring you into the present moment by simultaneously paying attention to the body, mind, and breath.  Yoga gives us the opportunity to notice how we react to stress at the moment, especially when we hold poses for a length of time.  Practicing yoga regularly helps us peel off the layers of accumulative stress on the mind and body.  â€‹

We could talk about how great yoga is for us all day, but it really comes down to doing the practice

Here are some personal benefits I've noticed since committing to a regular yoga practice.

  • I breathe better and have an easier time taking deep breaths.

  • I'm more comfortable approaching uncomfortable challenges.

  • I'm more aware of what I'm doing at the moment, which allows me to feel in control of my actions.

  • I have better posture and am conscious about sitting up tall.  I even measure an inch taller at the doctor's office!

  • I have more patience for myself and others.

  • My balance has substantially improved and I have fewer aches and pains.

Ear Acupunctue

Ear Acupuncture

Ear Acupuncture helps to relax the nervous system, improve willpower, and reduce physical aches and pains.  Each session utilizes five needles in each ear to help stimulate the flow of energy through the meridians in the body.  Your only job is to breathe and notice what you experience.  Everyone will have their own unique experience with ear acupuncture, so you have to try it to know how it will personally impact you.  See below for client feedback and more information about the five points.

Ear Acupuncture will be offered beginning this Summer.
